Industrial Electrical Technician Courses
Introduction to Industrial Electronics
This hands-on course provides the student with a basic foundation in industrial electronics. Students will work with real world industrial components and circuits found in most electronic equipment thus gaining an understanding of electronic topics. Students will achieve a working knowledge of multimeters, signal generators, DC power supplies, and the oscilloscope. This class will teach troubleshooting and problem solving skills by using schematic diagrams to build and test circuits for proper operation.
Course Overview
- Using a solid state oscilloscope
- Using a function generator to simulate electronic signals
- Build and test a linear DC supply
- Build and test a transistor amplifier
- Build and test SCR and Triac power control circuits
- Apply resistors, capacitors and inductors in electronic circuits
- Test for harmonics using a power quality analyzer
- Finding faults in a variable speed drive
